毛谦:万兆宽带已不是奢望,波长独享方案更具优势

6月16日消息(南山)日前举办的2023中国光网络研讨会上,工业与信息化部通信科学技术委员会顾问、亚太光通讯委员会主任、中国光网络研讨会联席 毛谦发表演讲表示,我国宽带用户数已为全球第一,渗透率约90%,新增用户仍有空间。 根据统计,我国每年对新增住宅的需求量1000-1100万套,实际上新增2000-3000万套,其中还有改善性需求,这些新增的家庭是宽带潜在用户。此外,据MIIT的数据,2022年我国每天新增中小微企业2.38万家,那么一年新增数约900万家,这些企业都会有宽带接入需求。此外从全球来看,宽带网络总体仍处于快速增长期,海外市场也不乏机遇。毛谦指出,随着生活水平不断提升并趋智能化,网上办公/会议/工作互动等,用户一方面对服务质量有更高要求,同时仍会长期、持续对网速的提高有所期待,所以不断提高接入速率依然是需要的。在实现千兆入户的基础上,万兆入户必然会相继提出。目前我国接入网是以10G PON技术为主的千兆网络。2022年底,我国已建成110个千兆城市,占所有地级市的三分之一,千兆光网具备覆盖超过5亿户家庭的能力。毛谦强调,要更大规模实现千兆/万兆入户,不仅EPON、GPON不能胜任,10GEPON、XGPON的覆盖度也不够大,效率较低。向50GPON甚至100GPON演进是必然趋势。从目前的发展趋势来看,业界比较倾向于单波50GPON。 支持万兆宽带的各项技术(例如50G-PON和WiFi7)也逐步在成熟,万兆宽带已不是奢望。我国光通信主流供应商都已具备了50GPON 的能力,有的还实现了100GPON,为万兆入户提供了基础条件。 此外,毛谦认为,当前FTTH采用无源光网络方案,但单个用户需要的接入速率提高到一定程度以后,例如1Gbps,考虑到光纤价格的下降,可能有源光网络比无源光网络提供更高速率更加方便、更容易升级以及成本更低。毛谦建议,万兆及以上带宽用户,可以考虑带宽独享的方案,包括XG/XGS- PON的用户带宽独享、P2P光纤独享、NG-PON2的波长独享等。现在看来波长独享方案比较有成本和技术优势,会成为发展趋势。当然,技术方案各具优缺点,不可能是某一种方案去代替所有的方案,可以根据实际情况选择。

According to statistics, my country's annual demand for new residential units is 10-11 million units. In fact, there are 20-30 million new units, including improvement needs. These new households are potential users of broadband. In addition, according to MIIT data, there will be 23,800 new small, medium and micro enterprises in my country every day in 2022, which means the number of new enterprises will be approximately 9 million a year. These enterprises will all have broadband access needs. In addition, from a global perspective, broadband networks are still in a period of rapid growth, and there is no shortage of opportunities in overseas markets. Mao Qian pointed out that as living standards continue to improve and become more intelligent, and online offices/meetings/work interactions, etc., on the one hand, users have higher requirements for service quality, and at the same time, they still have long-term and continuous expectations for improvements in network speed, so it is still necessary to continuously increase access rates. On the basis of realizing Gigabit household access, 10 Gigabit household access will inevitably be proposed one after another. At present, my country's access network is a Gigabit network based on 10G PON technology. By the end of 2022, my country has built 110 Gigabit cities, accounting for one-third of all prefecture-level cities, and Gigabit optical networks have the ability to cover more than 500 million households. Mao Qian emphasized that in order to achieve Gigabit/10 Gigabit home access on a larger scale, not only EPON and GPON are not competent, but the coverage of 10GEPON and XGPON is not large enough and the efficiency is low. The evolution to 50GPON or even 100GPON is an inevitable trend. Judging from the current development trend, the industry prefers single-wavelength 50GPON. Various technologies supporting 10G broadband (such as 50G-PON and WiFi7) are also gradually maturing, and 10G broadband is no longer a luxury. Mainstream optical communication suppliers in China have already achieved 50GPON capabilities, and some have even implemented 100GPON, providing basic conditions for 10G to households. In addition, Mao Qian believes that currently FTTH uses a passive optical network solution, but after the access rate required by a single user increases to a certain level, such as 1Gbps, taking into account the decline in fiber prices, it may be more convenient, easier to upgrade, and lower cost for active optical networks to provide higher rates than passive optical networks. Mao Qian suggested that users with bandwidths of 10 Gigabit and above can consider bandwidth exclusive solutions, including exclusive user bandwidth for XG/XGS-PON, exclusive P2P fiber, and exclusive wavelength for NG-PON2, etc. Now it seems that the wavelength exclusive solution has more cost and technical advantages and will become a development trend.
